Bundeena House Christian Community is an independent, inclusive Christian fellowship which has been meeting together to serve and worship God, and walk with one another since 1964.
Our name derives from our building, Bundeena House. The building is where we hold our weekly services, and allows us to practice a ministry of hospitality.
The word ‘Community’ in our name reflects our calling and our journey together – that we share our lives in the good times, the hard times, and the sad times, and are enriched and blessed through encountering and serving God as we encounter and serve each other.
We do not have a clergy person or ordained minister or pastor. Our worship services are led by people within our Community who are on a roster according to the ability, willingness and availability to lead services and provide teaching/sermons. This is ‘body ministry’ as described in 1 Corinthians 12:13-27, and has blessed us all and released gifts in people which may have remained undiscovered in a different form of church.
Our guiding Bible verse from the beginning has been “He (Jesus) heals the broken-hearted” (Isaiah 61:1, Psalm 147:3, Luke 4:18). As a Community we seek to respond to this scripture by creating a space where people can receive spiritual renewal and refreshment, recognising that all people have places and times in their lives that need healing.

At Bundeena House Christian Community, we believe that every person is created in God’s image. All are equally worthy of respect, dignity, and love, regardless of gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, race or ethnicity. Everyone is welcomed, supported, and affirmed to grow in their relationship with God, self, and each other. Everyone is encouraged to use their gifts and abilities to serve God and others.
We are theologically diverse, and subscribe to the idea of “in essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity” (various attributions). At Bundeena House we recognise that everyone brings their own background and experiences to us, which means that different practices and aspects of belief mean different things to different people. We embrace this difference, remembering that God calls us all to Him through various ways.
